Coronavirus In India: With 47 new deaths and 1336 new cases reported in last 24 hours, India's overall tally of Coronavirus positive cases leapfrogged the 18000-mark with the death toll nearing 600 on Tuesday morning.
Maharashtra and Delhi continued to remain the worst affected states by the coronavirus pandemic with most number of positive cases reported. Gujarat witnesses a massive surge of COVID-19 cases with 127 fresh cases reported on Tuesday. With 6 more deaths, the toll in the state rose to 77.

Coronavirus in Haryana Update-
Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij today said that Haryana is moving fast towards normalcy with 56.7 percent recovery rate against 16.38 percent of the all-India rate of coronavirus cases.
'There are 108 active COVID-19 patients as on today in Haryana with the death rate is 0.79 percent against 3.15 percent of national,' Vij said in a tweet.
Coronavirus in West Bengal Update-
According to West Bengal Chief Secretary, 29 new COVID-19 cases reported in the State in the last 24 hours; the total death toll stands at 15.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Tuesday asked states not to use the newly-distributed rapid testing kits to detect coronavirus for the next two days after huge variations in the accuracy of results were noticed across regions.
States advised not to use rapid testing kits for two days. A lot of variations, kits will be tested and validated by on-ground teams and we will give advisory in the next 2 days, Head of Epidemiology and Communicable Diseases at ICMR Raman R Gangakhedkar said.

Rajasthan Stops Use of rapid Test Kits Over Low Accuracy
The Rajasthan government has decided to stop the use of rapid test kits from China as they were showing only 5.4 per cent accuracy in testing Covid-19 cases, according to Health Minister Raghu Sharma, here on Tuesday. The kits, used on Covid-19 positive patients, showed them negative too, Sharma added.
The state government has written to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Sharma said the Health Department had set up a committee to test these kits' accuracy. It should have been 90 per cent, but, according to the committee, the accuracy was only 5.4 per cent.
At present, testing is being done by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) kits. The department had ordered purchase of more PCR kits, he added.

Two Rohingya refugees from Telangana who had attended the Tablighi Jamaat congregation in Delhi last month have tested positive for COVID-19, police said. According to Director General of Police Mahender Reddy, two Rohingyas from Nalgonda who attended the meet at Nizamuddin Markaz in the national capital were found infected. Both are under treatment at a hospital in Hyderabad and their condition is stable, IANS reported.

A police inspector died due to COVID 19 virus in Madhya Pradesh's Indore district on Tuesday, an official said. This is the second casualty inflicted on a police personell in the state after a cop had succembed to death last week due to the coronavirus. In the latest case, the inspector, who was posted at a police station in Ujjain and had a medical history of high blood pressure, was initially treated at a hospital there for four days after he contracted the disease. "After his health condition turned grim, he was rushed to the Indore-based private Aurobindo hospital 10 days ago. Despite all efforts by doctors, he could not be saved," Ujjain's Additional Superintendent of Police Rupesh Kumar Dwivedi said.
